2.1 Files & Directories

These options are important for external modules, such as the Perl interpreter and a webserver.

Fig. 2.1a: the options dialog, general settings

Following, a description of the settings:

2.1.1 External applications

Sets binary locations for applications CamelRider needs to / can run.

2.1.1.1 Perl interpreter: indicates the position of the local Perl interpreter, perl.exe. Perl is needed to run / test / syntax check or debug your Perl Scripts. If you have not installed Perl, please download it from http://www.activestate.com or http://www.perl.com and install it.
2.1.1.2 Webserver: indicates the position of your webserver. This is needed if you plan to use and test your scripts in combination with HTML forms that call the scripts. I recommend to use the lean Xitami for Windows webserver, to be found at http://www.xitami.com or http://www.imatix.com .
2.1.1.3 Autorun webserver on startup: if checked, the webserver specified in 2.1.1.2 will be launched when CamelRider is launched.

2.1.2 CGI directory

-not used yet-

2.1.3 On run / execution

These options are used when launching / syntax checking or debugging a script in the editor.

2.1.3.1 Do not autosave it [...]: when running the script, the user has to save the file in the editor prior run / debug / syntax check. Otherwise, the last saved version will be taken - if it exists.
2.1.3.2 Auto-save script [...]: prior run / debug / syntax check, the script in Editor is saved to its location on the HD.
2.1.3.3 Auto-save [...] to: the script is saved before run / debug / syntax check to another location, thus the original file is not touched.
