1. Intro
===================================================================================

What are these files??? Well, since December 13th in 1998 we - The Trash Inc.- are
working on a 3D space combat simulator. The files delivered are first steps of our
game engine using DirectX 6 and above. The sources do not offer highly skilled
code and are not complete by far: there is still missing AI, FX, an object manager,
mission interpreter etc. The Only thing the source reveals until now are basic
DirectX initializations for devices and some basic things like constructors for a
starfield, trash and some decals placed in space.
In regular periods, the engine will be updated and grow in size and functions. The
purpose of this early release is to help others in developing games using Delphi
and DirectX.

2. Units desc
===================================================================================

a) DiseasedX -offers enum functions for DirectDraw drivers, DirectSound
			 drivers and DirectInput devices (the last one does not
			 work correctly, please help!!!) plus display modes
			-initializes them (DirectDraw, Direct3DRM, surfaces such
			 as back- and z-buffer) and retrieves valid interfaces
			-initializes the scene: viewport, camera, scene itself
			-some other helpers

b) DiseasedSpaceEnv	-creates and handles basic objects nessessary to create a
			 3D space environment:
				-starfield
				-flying trash (for velocity fx)
				-planets, sun(s) and other decals

c) DiseasedUtils	-contains more helper methods, e.g. a constructor for
			 off-screen surfaces from bitmaps etc.
			 Until now, it contains basic declarations for an object
			 manager and types, but they are *very* experimental. In
			 the near future, object handling will be placed into a new
			 unit and will be controled by a dedicated AI unit.

d) DXSoundDD* -basic DirectSound implementation, not dynamic yet. It can
			 handle up to four seperate secondary buffers.

e) DXWaveUtils**	-encapsulates some wave methods from the Windows API,
			 supports DXSoundDD; will become part of DXSoundDD later

*: Created by Nagilum of Dream Dimensions
**: origin unknown, maybe from Arne Schpers?

3. Misc.
===================================================================================

These file are part of the game engine for our forthcoming combat sim called
Simple Disease. Cos we are still in an early phase, these units are very small
and still unfinished. To get information on the progress on our game, visit the
official Simple Disease website (see below). We expect to finish it in the middle
of the next year (2000).
If you are interested in our project (means want to help us) or have other
questions, you are welcome to contact us (see below).
To use our units, you need Delphi 3 and up and the DirectX conversions from Erik
Unger, available from Delphi Jedi (see below).
We are not responsible for any damages the software may cause. We do not guarantee
that the units work as intended. The source is freeware.

All units (except marked) are Copyright 1999 by Blazko of Neveprise Inc.
DXSoundDD is Copyright 1999 by Nagilum of Dream Dimensions
