Unterlumen on a NAS
Four questions, and you get the file and the steps for your NAS. Nothing you type here leaves this page.

Steps
And on your Mac or PC
- Open Unterlumen on the NAS, go to Settings → Sharing and click Share with another installation. It makes
.unterlumen-sharedin the photo folder. Then, in each library you want on both, open Edit library and switch Share with other installations on. - On the Mac or PC, connect the photo folder of the NAS: on a Mac in the Finder with Go → Connect to Server, on Windows in Explorer with Map network drive, on Linux in the file manager or with an SMB or NFS mount.
- Install Unterlumen there. Under Settings → Shared folder, choose that folder; Unterlumen says another installation shares through it. Then add each shared library with New library…: it is added under the name it has on the NAS. A library you already had of that folder offers Join instead.
Each installation keeps its own catalog and thumbnails; destinations and galleries are the same on both, so you publish from either.
The libraries, their thumbnails and what Publish builds live in the volume unterlumen-data; they stay when the container is updated. The image contains ffmpeg, exiftool and heif-convert.
