bugfix release

This upload is mainly a bugfix release. Several errors have been repaired and some functions have been recovered that got lost during the new design:

• Articles can now be viewed or downloaded in these format: PostScript, PDF, plain text and frameless HTML. This function has been recovered.
• Overall fixes of minor errors.
• Reviews can now be rated again.
• The final overview box of a review is functioning again.

Internet Explorer users: i have noticed that this site is not displayed correctly in IE. Though having no Windows/MacOS, i cannot ensure if this version is working okay, so please mail me if errors are still present. You may include screenshots. mailto: webmaster

new design

You have noticed that neveprise.net has changed the design. Please view site information for more detailed information on changes done and those planned. However, you are invited to mail mailto: me any ideas or bugs you find. Thanx in advance!

added XSL introduction

Added the section XSL in XML and a first introductional article on this powerful technique: XSL introduction.

added XML introduction

Added an unfinished version of an XML introduction. Due to lack of time, this article is not complete by far, as these important aspects are still missing:

• DOM
• SAX
• XPath
• XLink
• XSL/XSLT
• tiny SGML history

and more. Expect updates on this article within the next future.

added Glimmer review

I added a review of the GTK/GNOME based all-purpose editor Glimmer.

rating system implemented

I have finished my first version of the rating system. This allows you to rate any article and review by choosing between five rating options and to apply a free-form comment.

added XMMS review

I added a review of the X Multimedia System (XMMS), a famous audio (and video) player on GNU systems.

opened software section

Software section added. Currently, it will just contain software reviews. In future this will also be the home for own projects and downloads.

review: Cdparanoia

New review of the CD digital audio ripper Cdparanoia.

review: OggEnc

New review of the Ogg/Vorbis audio converter OggEnc; it creates .ogg files from ordinary PCM wave files (and AIFF); a good replacement for your current MP3 encoder.

articles: intro description added

XSL stylesheet fix and document rework done, thus you will now get a short summary telling the basic contents of the article - this is the same thing HOWTos commonly have.

news implemented

This news site created and hope to maintain it, including non-neveprise stuff.

articles: TOCs fixed

Articles did not have an introducing table of contents. I fixed the error in my XSL stylesheet, thus articles have it now on top of'em.

multiple document formats

Articles are now available in other formats:

• PDF: Portaple Document Format (.pdf), buggy
• PS: PostScript (.ps), buggy
• plain ASCII text (.txt), buggy
• HTML: naked Hypertext Markup Language (.html), no navigation menue; printer friendly

As you see, most of the formats are still buggy: PDF contains unwanted links and bad quality images, PostScript broken, ASCII contains garbage.
